Just Do It Campaign Angers Fans

Nike is taking a page out of it’s “Just Do It” play book. making Colin kapepernick the face of it’s new campaign. The big announcement is still trending at the top of Twitter with tons of reaction. A supporter of the former 49ers quarterback wrote: There’s a natural conflict here when radical action becomes re-purposed for the agenda of a corporation and becomes something to be sold. But at the same time… Kap deserves to make his money.

Then there are others who are using #BoycottNike to show how upset they are about Kapernick’s new ad. Fans are burning shoes and cutting swooshes off of socks. One guy tweeted quote: “First the NFL forces me to choose between my favorite sport and my country. I chose country. ‘Then Nike forces me too choose between my favorite sport and my country. I chose country. Kapernick has remained unsigned after starting National Anthem protests for racial injustice.

What message is Nike sending by making him the face of their campaign?
