ROCK HILL, SC — Investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire that left seven pit bull puppies dead over the weekend.
Police say the fire happened Saturday evening, around seven o’clock, in a dog pin located behind a home on Arlington Avenue. Rock Hill Fire crews reportedly found the burned bodies of seven pit bull puppies inside the pin once the fire was extinguished.
According to a report, four additional full grown pit bulls were also found chained in the backyard but remained unharmed.
The home owner says the puppies were alive and secured when he left to go to a friend’s house around 4:45pm, according to police, and was not at home when the fire occurred.
Rock Hill Fire Department is investigating the case as possible arson. Check back for updates.
