LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Lincoln County deputies are searching for a 47-year-old man who went missing.
Deputies say Mitchell Merck of Iron Station was reported missing by his family just before noon on Wednesday, September 5 when he left his home.
The last contact was a text message to the family around 11:30 p.m. that same day, authorities say.
Merck is described as having gray hair and blue eyes. He is 6′ 4″ and weighs 195 pounds. Deputies say Merck could have been driving a silver, 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe with a temporary North Carolina license plate that reads 23985437. He is also known to the Mocksville, Mooresville and Salisbury areas.
