ARC officials say the shelter at Olympic High School on Sandy Porter Road has closed. Officials say another shelter is scheduled to open on Thursday, but the location and time has yet to be confirmed.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The American Red Cross is opening shelters in Charlotte as Hurricane Florence moves closer to the east coast.
People can seek shelter at any of the following locations in Charlotte:
East Mecklenburg High School
South Mecklenburg High School
North Mecklenburg High School
Olympic High School
Audrey Kell High School
All the shelters will be staffed by Red Cross with support from their partners. For more information on the Red Cross click HERE.
