ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — A woman is dead after she ran off the road and collided with a tree in Alexander County on Wednesday.
State troopers say 60-year-old Daisy Javid of Taylorsville was driving a 1992 Toyota Camry and traveling north along Old Landfill Road where she ran off the road to the right in a curve, struck a culvert and collided with a tree.
Javid was transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory where she died soon after.
The investigation shows Javid was wearing a seatbelt.
Authorities say excessive speed appears to be a contributing factor in the collision.
