Ump in Serena Williams Controversy Speaks Out
The Ump at the center of the Serena Williams controversy is speaking out. 47 year old Carlos Ramos says, “he’s fine, given the circumstances,” and that “it’s a delicate situation, but A La Carte Arbiration does not exist.”
He called three violations on Williams, who called him a thief and liar, in Saturday’s U.S. open final. He says he’s gotten hundreds of messages of support. The times of London reports, several umpires are now considering boycotting Williams.
