CHARLOTTE, N.C. — UNC Charlotte will move to reduced operations effective at 12 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept.18. Classes will resume as scheduled.
Students are expected to attend if they are able. Offices will be open with at least minimal operations.
Regardless of the University’s operating condition, members of the University community should exercise good judgment about their ability to reach campus safely.
Normal operations will resume at 12 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19.

UPDATE:
UNC Charlotte will be closed from Thursday, Sept. 13 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16 with all weekend classes canceled. The closure also applies to UNC Charlotte Center City.
The Charlotte 49ers football game scheduled for Saturday has been moved to 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13. More information is available on the Charlotte 49ers website.
Other games have been rescheduled or postponed.

CHARLOTTE, NC — The University of North Carolina Charlotte has announced classes will be canceled beginning 5pm Wednesday, September 12, in preparation for Hurricane Florence’s impact.
The following email was sent by the university regarding the cancellations and closures:
Due to expected emergency conditions across the state in advance of Hurricane Florence, UNC Charlotte officials have decided the University will operate in Condition 1 (reduced operations) effective 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12; evening classes are canceled.
Starting at 8 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, the University will operate under Condition 2 (suspended operations). Condition 2 will be in place until 11:59 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14. During this time all classes and University activities are canceled.
Please remember: The University is operating normally until 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12.
Students
All classes are canceled effective 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, until further notice.
All University activities are canceled effective 8 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, through 11:59 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.
Residence halls will remain open. Some dining options will also be available. More information to follow.
Students should exercise good judgment and monitor local weather forecasts when determining travel plans.

Faculty
All classes are canceled effective 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, until further notice.
Faculty should use their discretion in determining appropriate academic accommodations for students who ask for consideration to miss classes prior to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Staff
In Condition 1: Non-mandatory employees who believe they cannot remain at work through their scheduled shift or need to leave early should contact their supervisors to discuss how they will account for missed time. Mandatory employees are expected to report to work as directed.
In Condition 2: Non-mandatory employees should avoid campus. Missed time must be accounted for. Mandatory employees should remain at work or report as directed by their supervisors.
