CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police found a man dead inside a truck at an apartment complex parking lot in South Charlotte Monday night.
Around 8 p.m., an off duty-officer with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was inside an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Beacon Ridge Road near South Boulevard where he heard multiple gunshots coming from the parking lot.
The officer immediately responded and located 23-year-old Fabricio Diaz-Paz shot to death inside of a pickup truck.The officer performed CPR on Diaz-Paz but was unsuccessful in saving his life.
Medic pronounced Diaz-Paz deceased. His family has been notified of his death.
Police say Diaz-Paz was inside his car in the parking lot of the apartment complex when he was shot.

The shooting is under investigation as police are still searching for the shooter.
