CMPD’s Animal Care & Control Emergency Response Team Deployed To New Hanover County

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Animal Care and Control Division’s Emergency Response Team has deployed to New Hanover County to assist with the counties animal sheltering needs.

The ACC says there is also a need for help with animal rescue and welfare checks on animals in the area.

Two Emergency Response Trailers and trucks and an Animal Control van have been deployed.  The veterinary team has seven members including a Shelter Supervisor and a Veterinary Technician, many of whom assisted in the ACC’s deployment following Hurricane Matthew in 2016 in Edgecombe County.
