Crews Repair Gas Leak In Uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Fire Department were on standby as crews worked to repair a gas leak near the intersection of North College Street and E Trade Street Thursday.

Hazmat units were on the scene and several buildings in the area were evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were been reported.

The accident happened when a back-hoe accidentally hit the line, according to officials. The area has reopened.
