GASTONIA, N.C. — Gastonia Police say they are still trying to find the person responsible for a deadly hit and run last Friday.
Officers were called to Jenkins Dairy Road at Mt. Olive Church Road around 8am on September 28th in reference to a hit and run. Darrell Kendrick, 58, was reportedly found dead at that location.
According to investigators, Kendrick was walking northeast on Jenkins Dairy when he was hit by a vehicle traveling in the same direction.
“Based on evidence on the scene the suspect vehicle is believed to be a 1995-2000 Honda Civic with front right side damage with a broken right headlight assembly,” says Gastonia Police Traffic Sgt. Keith McCabe. “Additional review of the evidence is being done to determine the color of the vehicle.”
