Deputies Make Arrest In Lake James Stabbing Incident

MORGANTON, N.C. — Deputies say they charged a man with assault with a deadly weapon after he stabbed another man at the Linville Boating Access area of Lake James.

Samuel Keller is accused of stabbing the victim in the parking lot off Highway 126 on September 29th.  The victim was flown to a hospital in Charlotte due to the seriousness of his injuries.

Investigators say the victim had cuts on his front lower torso, back torso and a deep cut to his right arm near the wrist.

Deputies were able to locate Keller when he called 911 to request aid for his girlfriend who had a hand injury.  Deputies responded to the location Keller had given and he was immediately taken into custody.

Keller is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.  He was given a $100,000 bond.
