Arrest Made After Man Stabbed Near Publix Supermarket In Boone

BOONE, N.C. — A 41-year-old man has been arrested after police say he stabbed another man following an altercation at grocery store in Boone over the weekend.

Boone Police, Boone Fire and Watauga Medics were called on Sunday around 4:45 p.m. to the Publix supermarket, located in the vicinity of 1620 Blowing Rock Road, where they found 25-year-old Harley Mills suffering from a stab wound.

Mills was transported to Johnson City Medical Center for medical treatment. He is now in stable condition.

Police have arrested Jeffrey Warren of Sugar Grove in the stabbing of Harley Mills. Authorities say both Mills and Warren were acquaintances at the time of the incident.

Warren was issued a $200,000 secured bond and transported to the Watauga County Detention Center.
