The Driver Killed By A Falling Tree In Iredell County Has Been Identified

The victim of yesterday’s deadly accident in Iredell County has been identified as Brian Cooper.

Cooper was identified by @IredellFirewire on Twitter late Thursday night. The post says Cooper was a frequent contributor to the page.

According to a GoFundMe page, Cooper was driving to a doctor’s appointment when the accident occurred. Cooper’s wife reportedly learned of her husband’s passing when she noticed his car had been in the same spot for too long on a tracking app and drove to the scene.

Cooper leaves behind two sons, a 7-month-old and a sophomore at North Iredell High School. In the wake of Cooper’s tragic and sudden death, the GoFundMe page was reportedly created to help fulfill his dream of sending his boys to college.

STATESVILLE, N.C. — One person is dead after a tree fell on a car in Iredell County.  The incident happened as Tropical Storm Michael was moving through the area.

Troopers have not released the identity of the person at this time.  The accident happened near the intersection of Mocksville Highway and Songbird Lane.

According to Trooper Travis C Meadows, a man was traveling west on Highway 64 when a large oak tree fell on his vehicle and killed him.
