Subaru Of South Boulevard Presents ‘For The Love Of Pets Day’ | PHOTOS
On Saturday, October 13th, 2018, the CMPD Animal Care and Control Shelter provided free spaying and neutering, rabies shots, and microchip implants for Mecklenburg County pet owners through a grant from Subaru of South Boulevard and the ASPCA.
The Animal Care and Control Shelter says they provided 202 rabies vaccinations, 161 microchips, 111 pet identification tags, and 64 spay/neuter surgeries. The 161 microchips were the second largest amount ever given by the ACC in a single day.
The number of services provided Saturday are comparable to an entire month according to the ACC.
The cost of Saturday’s clinic was roughly $4000. Normally, the ACC would pay for expenses, but the grant from Subaru of South Boulevard and the ASPCA means that the ACC can save those resources and allocate the funds elsewhere to help more pets and pet owners.
There were also local vendors on site giving away free samples and a photographer taking fall-themed pet and family photos.
The community turnout and engagement was wonderful and shows how much Mecklenburg County citizens care about their pets.
Thanks to Subaru of South Boulevard, the ASPCA, and the CMPD Animal Care and Control Shelter for organizing such a beneficial community event.
