TSA Holds News Conference To Provide Holiday Travel Tips And Show Examples Of Prohibited Items

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Tuesday, October 23rd, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) provided the media with highlights of the work of our bomb experts. The TSA also provided travel tips with Thanksgiving just a month away. A display of prohibited items and secreted explosives were also featured.

“TSA has many specialists on staff who are critical elements of what we refer to as our people, processes and technology and the seen and unseen layers of security keeping your safe every day,” said Sari Koshetz. “One of the layers in this equation is the expertise of our bomb experts. We call them our TSSEs, or Transportation Security Specialists – Explosives.”

While most people identify the TSA with the checkpoints in airports, TSA is a counterintelligence agency working closely with our airport, law enforcement and intelligence community partners to set the standard for excellence in transportation security around the world, across the country and right here in Charlotte.
