CMPD Asking For Community’s Help With 2018 Homicide Investigation

The CMPD is asking the community for help with the investigation into the murder of 29-year-old Danneul “Dan Dan” McLean on December 21st, 2018.

Detectives are looking for information regarding a black or blue 1988-1999 Chevrolet Silverado with a silver or Metallic Stripe along both sides.

According to detectives, the truck has an extended cab with tinted rear windows.  There is no toolbox or railing in the bed and it has a loud exhaust or muffler, police say.

Anyone with information about the below-pictured truck is asked to leave it with a Homicide Unit detective by calling 704-432-TIPS, or leave it anonymously with Crimes Stoppers by calling 704-334-1600.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD says the man who was sent to the hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in north Charlotte Thursday has died.

Danneul McLean, 29, was pronounced dead at CMC Friday from injuries sustained during a shooting on Druid Circle.

Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department say the shooting happened around 4 a.m. near Statesville Avenue.

McLean was reportedly found laying in the street with a gunshot wound. Medic transported him to CMC-Main where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries until his death.

CMPD is still investigating what led up to the shooting.
