TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — A Taylorsville man was arrested on drug possession charges following a traffic stop.
Members of the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office assisted by Taylorsville Police arrested and charged Cory Brian Sherrod, age 20, of Taylorsville with the following charges: Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substance and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
The charges are the result of a vehicle stop made on Cougar Ave in Taylorsville. Officers seized a quantity of marijuana and a loaded handgun from the vehicle. Sherrod was placed under an $8,500.00 bond. The investigation is continuing.
