UNION COUNTY, N.C. — The Union County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area in Indian Trail.
Authorities say the victim has been identified as 28-year-old Robert Luke Puckett of Midland, North Carolina. Mr. Puckett’s body was found in the woods near Van Buren Drive in Indian Trail.
Mr. Puckett had recently been employed at Smith Grounds Management located on Van Buren Drive.
Investigators are trying to determine how long Mr. Puckett has been deceased and whether or not he died where he was found.
The Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death following an autopsy.
