Boone Police Looking For Two Suspects Accused Of Breaking Into Vehicles

BOONE, NC — Police need help identifying two suspects they say broke into several vehicles overnight Saturday.

The break-ins happened around 3am in the parking lot of Bavarian Village on Meadowview Drive. The suspects reportedly stole cash from inside the vehicles.

Anyone with information on these crimes or suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 828-268-6959 / 828-737-0125 or Boone Police at 828-268-6900.

Police advise residents to take the following precautions to reduce or prevent thefts from vehicles:

  • Always lock your vehicle.
  • Don’t leave valuables in view. This not only means obvious things like wallets, purses, cameras, leather jackets, CD players, etc., but any bags or backpacks that might appear to hold them. If you must leave valuables in the car, use the trunk. If you don't have a trunk, try under the seat or cover the items with a floor mat or blanket. At least get it out of open view.
  • Don’t leave your ID or credit cards in the vehicle. Car break-ins are a gold mine for identity theft.
