CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say they arrested a teenager for having a gun in his pocket at Garinger High School.
Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested 16-year-old Del’Marcus Walker Tuesday afternoon.
The School Resource Officer was alerted by a school counselor that Walker may be in possession of a gun on school property, according to a news release. The officer reportedly located the student on campus and conducted a search.
Police say the student had the gun in his pocket. Walker has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a handgun by minor, altering a gun serial number and having a gun on an educational property.
