Judge Grants Sandy And Casey Parsons’ Defense More Time To Prepare

SALISBURY, NC — The defense for the couple accused of killing their adoptive daughter now has more time to go through evidence.

On Wednesday, the district attorney asked the judge to set the dates for the murder trial of Erica Parsons’ adoptive parents for September 2019. The judge ruled that would not give the defense time to prepare.

Sandy and Casey Parsons are charged with first degree murder.

Erica’s biological mother spoke to WCCB about the case.

“I trusted them with a precious gift,” says Carolyn Parsons. “I hate to say it, they deserve a fair trial, just as I would… just as you would, but that fair trial is going to have my face there.”

Parsons says although she wants the trial to be over, she wants it done right.
