CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A popular hangout spot in NoDa shut down unexpectedly Monday morning. Solstice Tavern, which is located on North Davidson Street in the heart of NoDa, posted on their Facebook page the following message:
An employee at Solstice Tavern, which is known for their amazing patio and food, tells WCCB this is the message that was sent by the restaurant’s owner announcing the closure:
“I am really sorry to tell you all this and really wish there was another way. After years of fighting the landlord and lawsuits he has refused to renew our lease, So as of today we are closed. I am truly sorry and wish it wasn’t this way. I am very appreciative and thankful for all of the hard work thru the years. I do wish the very best for everyone and can’t thank you enough. Paychecks should be here Wednesday please contact me with a time to meet you so I can be sure to be here and able to get it to you, if you prefer I mail it just let me know and give me an address. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!”
