Police Identify 81-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed In South Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have identified the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle in south Charlotte on November 13th.

The accident happened on Tuesday around 6pm at Sharon Road and Rutherford Drive. 81-year-old Christa Frazier was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, Frazier was crossing Sharon Road when she was hit by a 2005 Lexus RX330. Police say she was not using a crosswalk, but also say a crosswalk was not available in that area.

At the time of the accident, investigators say there was low visibility due to rain and a lack of lighting.

Speed and impairment, by either party, is not believed to have been a factor in the accident.
