Panthers Playoff Hopes In Doubt After Third Straight Loss
Three losses in a row have the Carolina Panthers playoff hopes in doubt.
The Panthers lost to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday by just 3 points.
They had a chance to take the lead with less than 2 minutes left in the game, but kicker Graham Gano missed a 52-yard field goal and Captain Munnerlyn allowed a huge play that set up Seattle’s game winning field goal.
On Monday, Panthers head coach Ron Rivera addressed what he called ‘critical mistakes.’
“Winning football games comes down to four or five six plays, and that’s exactly what got us,” said Rivera. “I’m not gonna sit here and try to make any other excuse, other than the fact that those are the things that we have to get corrected. We can’t allow those critical mistakes as coaches, we can’t have them as players.”
Making the playoffs will take more than just winning.
Currently the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks are all ahead of Carolina for the two wild-card spots.
