Radio Station Won’t Play Baby It’s Cold Outside

A radio station in Cleveland will not play a particular holiday song this year. Star 102, WDOK will not play ‘Baby it’s cold outside’, amid concerns about it’s “predatory nature”.

In an interview, a midday host for the station said, if you really read the lyrics, it’s not a situation I want my daughter to be in. Another host wrote, “when the song was written in 1944 it was a different time, but now reading it, it seems very manipulative and wrong.”

Has the station gone too far, or was this a good move?
