What Advice Would You Give Panthers Head Coach Ron Rivera?

The Carolina Panthers look to end a four game losing streak when they face the Browns in Cleveland on Sunday.

The first item on head coach Ron Rivera’s to do list: get control of the struggling defense.
The Panthers defense has given up 126 points in the past four games and is currently ranked 14th in the NFL.

On Monday, Rivera fired two defensive assistant coaches and announced he would take over play calling for the defense through the end of the season.
“I just felt it was in the best interest of the football team going forward,” Rivera said. “We’ve got four games left were going to take them one at a time, and we’ve got Cleveland.”
Rivera says he helped defensive coordinator Eric Washington during Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay.

During Monday’s press conference, Rivera was also asked about a CBS Sports report that team owner David Tepper would consider major changes if the team keeps losing, but he wouldn’t say if his job is on the line.

When asked is Tepper has put him on notice or given any ultimatums, Coach Rivera responded, “I’m not going to talk about what Mr. Tepper and I talk about. Quite honestly, if you know Mr. Tepper, that’s not his style. Very upfront, very forward. And again, I’ve been very fortunate to have a good collaboration with him, myself and my general manager.”
