LINCOLNTON, NC — A registered sex offender is facing charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl. Timothy Self, 26, was arrested at his home on Friday and charged with one count of Statutory Rape of a Child. 
Detectives say allegations were made against Self on November 30. The victim told investigators she was sexually assaulted on separate occasions that took place during the month of November.
Self was interviewed by detectives on Friday and later charged. He has been placed under a $200,000 bond.
Officials say Self became a registered sex offender in 2014 after being convicted in Catawba County of taking indecent liberties with a minor.
