Two Charged After Early Morning Vehicle Break-Ins, Third Suspect Wanted

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD has charged two suspects accused of breaking into multiple vehicles early Tuesday morning. A third suspect is still on the loose.

The crimes were reported just before 2:30am at The Reserve Apartments on Providence Road. Police say two male suspects, later identified as Christian McManus, 18, and Jamarius Allen, 21, were arrested after someone reported them breaking into vehicles in the parking lot.

McManus was arrested on scene, but police say Allen and a third suspect took off in a stolen Dodge Caravan. The suspects reportedly stopped the van and tried to run on foot, but K9 units were able to track Allen and take him into custody.

The third suspect has not been located.

McManus and Allen are each charged with eight counts of Breaking/Entering of a Motor Vehicle. Allen is additionally charged with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and Resist/Delay/Obstruct.

Police say they’re seeking warrants on the third suspect.
