CHARLOTTE, NC– Charlotte native, Austyn Dixon, earned Sailor of the Day aboard the USS John C. Stennis aircraft carrier.
Dixon, a U.S. Navy Information Systems Technician from Charlotte, NC, posed for a photograph as he received the Sailor of the Day honor.
Commanding officer, Capt. Randy Peck, of the USS John C. Stennis and Command Master Chief, Benjamin Rushing, presented the honor to Dixon in the Arabian Sea Friday.
The John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group and the Essex Amphibious Ready Group are conducting integrated operations in the Arabian Sea to ensure stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
