Eastridge Mall Shooting Possibly Prompted By Road Rage, Gastonia Officials Say

GASTONIA, N.C. — A possible road rage incident led to a shooting in Gastonia, according to authorities.

Gastonia Police say a man was shot in the leg on Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. after a possible case of road rage on New Hope Road or I-85.

The victim pulled into the parking lot of Eastridge Mall for help after he was shot.

Gastonia Police say the man has been transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center for treatment.

An investigation is underway.
