MS-13 Gang Member Among 3 Illegals Arrested In Gaston County For Drug Trafficking
GASTON COUNTY, NC — Gaston County Police, along with several local, state and federal agencies, arrested three illegal aliens on Monday after seizing roughly $200,000 worth of methamphetamine.
Cristian Cabrera-Rivas, of Charlotte, Silvia Hernandez-Iturralde, of Ladson, SC, and Marco Garcia, also of Ladson, were all arrested at the end of a large scale narcotics investigation on January 7th.
Investigators say the suspects were in possession of roughly two kilograms of methamphetamine, which has a street value of around $200,000. Several children were also present in the home, authorities say, and have been taken into protective custody.
Each of the three suspects were in the country illegally, according to GCPD.
Detectives say Cabrera-Rivas also has an “extensive” criminal record and has been deported and removed several times. He is also reportedly a documented member of the MS-13 street gang.
Each of the suspects are charged as follows:
Cristian Cabrera-Rivas, 36, is charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, and is being held under a $275,000 bond and immigration hold.
Silvia Hernandez-Iturralde, 29, is charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, and is being held under a $250,000 bond and immigration hold.
Marco Garcia, 35, is charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, and is being held under a $250,000 bond and immigration hold. Police say Garcia also had an outstanding deportation order issued against him at the time of his arrest.
