Cold Snap Begins

Freezing start for all this morning with wind chills near zero across the mountains. Highs today will reach the low 40s under sunny skies. Wind will die down by the afternoon. Dry and cold to end the work week. This weekend will bring the chance for a wintry mix back to the forecast. We could see a brief period of light snow west of 77 late Friday into Saturday, but the real moisture will move in late Saturday. Rain and even a snow mix will be possible. However, this will turn to rain by Sunday. Lingering showers will push into Monday morning. Potential for black ice as overnight lows dip below freezing Monday night. Temps will be more seasonable by the middle of the next work week.
