GASTON COUNTY, NC — The Gaston County Police Department says their front desk phone number may have been compromised by an unknown person(s).
Officials say someone is calling residents from a number matching that of the GCPD front desk, and telling the victims to close their bank accounts.
Anyone who receives this type of call is asked to do the following:
- Listen to the information provided
- Ask for the name of the person calling
- Report the incident to the Gaston County Police Department at 704-866-3320
