Photos Show Vehicle Wanted In Connection To Deadly North Charlotte Hit-And-Run
CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has released photos showing a suspect vehicle wanted in connection to Saturday night’s deadly hit-and-run accident.
Just before 11pm, police say Tommie Ruffin, 28, was hit by a burgundy SUV on Reagan Drive in north Charlotte. The victim was taken to Atrium Health with critical injuries, but died Wednesday night.
According to investigators, the driver pulled into the parking lot of the Royal Inn and got out to check on Ruffin. Without reporting the incident however, the driver reportedly got back in their vehicle and left.
The vehicle described as a burgundy mid-sized SUV, possibly a Nissan Rogue with luggage roof rails, was last seen traveling towards Graham Street, police say. The vehicle will have damage to the front bumper, headlight, hood and possibly windshield.
Police say the suspect is described as a 5’8″ to 6′ tall white, light skinned black, or Latino male with an average build.
The above photos were taken from nearby surveillance, police say, and show the actual suspect vehicle that is wanted.
Anyone with information on this suspect’s whereabouts or identity is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
