Should Students Be Required To Take Personal Finance Classes

A South Carolina Lawmaker wants to make sure students know how to be responsible with money. Senator Luke Rankin has pre-filed a bill that would require High School Students to take a personal finance class. The course would cover budgeting, taxes, insurance and how to avoid getting into debt. If passed the bill would go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year.

A new study just released found that the six out of 10 people in the US lack the savings to handle an unforeseen $1k expense.
