Rising Spotlight: CLT 250 Brings The Community Together To Celebrate Legacy Of Martin Luther King Jr.

From parades to events, Charlotte’s 250th anniversary celebration continues this weekend with the community together to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We’re talking about the 2019 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Martin Luther King Jr. celebration events and activities that are happening over the next few days.

It all kicks off at 10 AM on Saturday, Jan. 19 with the annual Martin Luther King Jr. parade. Bring your family and friends to see a youth marching band, elected officials, Greek organizations, churches and lots more!

Delores Reid-Smith, the chairwoman of Charlotte Mecklenburg’s MLK celebration organizing committee, stopped by Rising to talk more about the upcoming celebration.
