Ultimate Hike: Mom to Trek 28.3 Miles for Daughter, a Childhood Cancer Survivor

CHARLOTTE, NC —Β  Hiking for a cure. Candace Tucker stopped by Rising with her daughter Cora, a childhood cancer survivor. Candace has teamed up with the CureSearch ultimate hike program to trek 28.3 miles in one day to help make sure other children survive too.

What does Ultimate Hike Fund? Children’s cancer research that leads to more cures and safer, less toxic treatments.

Why is funding needed? One in eight children diagnosed with cancer don’t survive, and 60% of those who do suffer significant, life changing side effects like infertility, cognitive impairment, increased risk of secondary cancer, etc.
