STATESVILLE, N.C. — Deputies say they arrested a sex offender for being at a school in Iredell County.
John Berry, 33, of Stony Point is accused of walking on the property of Celeste Henkel Elementary School. Investigators with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office say Berry is a registered sex offender out of Alexander County.

Berry was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with felony sex offender on child premises.
He was issued a $15,000 secured bond. No other details have been released at this time.
