CMPD Charges Two Men With Shooting Into Home Tuesday Night
CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD has charged two suspects with shooting into an east Charlotte home Tuesday night.
The shooting was reported just before 9:30pm at a home on East W.T. Harris Boulevard. Police say no one in the home was injured.
Investigators say one of the suspects was wearing an electronic monitor at the time of the shooting. The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) alerted CMPD that the device pinged at the apartment complex just prior to the 911 call.
CMPD’s aviation unit was then able to locate the suspects’ vehicle thanks to a description provided by RTCC. Police say a firearm matching evidence collected at the shooting was found inside the vehicle.
Amari McCaskill, 19, and Lamar McCaskill, 21, were arrested and charged with Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property.
