Sheriff: Man In The Country Illegally Received Marijuana Shipments At Salisbury Residence
SALISBURY, N.C. — Authorities in Salisbury have charged a man, who they say is in the country illegally, with trafficking marijuana.
An investigation determined suspicious packages were delivered to 182 Cypress Lane in Salisbury, from California, on eight occasions over the past year.
California is a known source state for high-grade marijuana being shipped to North Carolina through the United States Postal Service and other parcel service companies.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office after, on Friday, January 18th, 2019, investigators executed a search warrant at 182 Cypress Lane in Salisbury, with assistance from the United States Postal Service and Landis Police Department, after the delivery of another suspicious package.
Investigators located approximately 11 pounds of high-grade marijuana valued at $30,000, along with a .22 caliber handgun and additional drug paraphernalia inside the residence.
As a result of the investigation, Mario Andres Solis-Delgado, 33, was arrested and charged with Trafficking Marijuana by Possession. Solis-Delgado told authorities he was a Mexican citizen and in the United States illegally.
Solis-Delgado was released on a $50,000 secured bond.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
