3 Lincoln County Inmates Accused Of Damaging Facility
LINCOLN COUNTY, NC — Several inmates at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center are facing possible charges after allegedly punching a hole in the ceiling.
The incident was reported Sunday in the showers of “B” dorm. Detention officers say they found a 12 to 15 inch diameter hole punched in the ceiling, which led to a metal barrier above.
The hole was reportedly made using a broom stick used to clean the area.
Officials say Darryl Young, 40, of Charlotte, Joseph Reeves, 28, of Lincolnton, and Cory Ingram, 23, of Denver, have been identified as suspects in the crime.
The inmates just wanted to cause damage, according to officials.
No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Young is being held on a fugitive from justice warrant, Reeves is in jail on drug possession charges and Ingram is serving time for a probation violation.
