PAGELAND, SC — The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office has charged a suspect accused of shooting a man during an argument over the weekend.
The shooting reportedly happened Saturday at the home of Brandon Ponds on North Arant Street. Deputies say 34-year-old Rechio Horton was at the home when he and Ponds got into an argument, which led to Ponds shooting him in the abdomen and leg.
Deputies say Horton was able to seek help at a nearby home, and was transported to CMC Union in Monroe before being airlifted to CMC Main in Charlotte.
Sheriff James Dixon says Ponds was arrested at the scene, and has been charged with Attempted Murder and Use of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
