Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo provided updates Monday night after five officers were shot and two suspects were killed.
Chief Acevedo says four officers were shot, including two that are in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the neck. A fifth officer was also injured but not shot, according to the chief.
During the news conference, Chief Acevedo said his officers were serving warrants at the home in connection to black tar heroin that was being sold at that location.
It is not clear if both suspects fired shots, Chief Acevedo says, but two suspects were killed during the shootout.
Another news conference is scheduled for 10am Tuesday morning.

HOUSTON, TX — Several Houston Police Officers are being treated after officials say they were shot by a suspect Monday evening.
The incident happened on Harding Street in southeast Houston. Houston Police say five officers were shot after an encounter with a suspect, and have been transported to Memorial Hermann Medical Center.
The condition and severity of the officers’ injuries have not been released.
Houston Police have confirmed that one suspect is dead.
Officials have not yet commented on what led up to the shooting, or provided any information on the suspect.
