CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have a man in custody after a woman was reportedly stabbed inside the Amazon distribution center in west Charlotte Wednesday night.
The crime happened around 7:19pm at the warehouse on Old Dowd Road. Medic says the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A man has been taken into custody, police say, who is believed to be the suspect. Police say he and the victim did know each other.
Rachael Lighty, Regional Manager, External Communications for Amazon Operations released a statement saying, “The safety of our employees is our top priority. Amazon has a zero-tolerance policy for violence in the workplace and our thoughts are with our employee who was injured in this incident. Amazon employees, contractors, visitors and vendors are prohibited, at all times, from possessing any weapon or item deemed to cause harm. We are working with local authorities to support their investigation.”
