Surveillance Video Shows Man Wanted For The Murder Of An East Charlotte Business Owner

CHARLOTTE, NC. — Surveillance video released shows a man wanted for the murder of an East Charlotte business owner. It’s been nearly three weeks since that murder. Now, CMPD is working with the FBI to find the killer.

Officials are offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to an arrest.

The surveillance video shows a man walk into FixEr Electronic Repair on North Sharon Amity Road at 11am on January 14th. Police say moments later, he shot and killed an innocent man during a robbery.

The victim is named Elchin Khalilov. Police say it appears Khalilov did not try to resist.

“He took Mr. Khalilov away from his friends, his family. We need to seek justice for that family,” says CMPD Sgt. Brad Dunn.

The suspect wore a hoodie with the word “LOVE” in block letters on both sleeves.
