Town Cracks Down On Barking Dogs
If your dog barks too much, you’ll now pay a fine in one French town.
The cost? About $77 (US)
Pet owners can now be punished for their dog’s ‘prolonged and repeated barking’ that ‘disturbs the rest and relaxation’ of the town.
The town’s mayor suggests people use anti-barking collars or keep their dogs inside.
He says this new rule is a last resort after dozens of people signed a petition complaining about one specific woman with several large dogs.
The new rule went into effect Monday.
Noisy pets is one of the most common reasons people fight with their neighbors.
That’s according to a Homes.com survey that found around a third of Americans have some beef with the people next door.
Other common issues include: fights over parking, neighbors leaving trash or a mess outside, disputes over property lines and privacy issues.
In fact: 1-in-5 people say they think their neighbor spies on them.
