CONCORD, NC — A Concord man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly running an illegal sweepstakes gaming operation.
Concord Police say they seized a “significant” amount of cash and computer equipment from Double Deuce Sweepstakes on Union Cemetery Road SW. Officers served a search warrant on the business as part of an operation targeting illegal sweepstakes gaming.
The owner and operator, Jeffrey Phillips, 42, was arrested and charged with possession of five or more electronic gaming machines as defined by NC General Statute 14-309(B).
