Trial Date Set For Casey Parsons

The Latest:

The adoptive mother of Salisbury teen Erica Parsons will go to trial in 2020.  The date was set during a hearing Thursday morning.

Casey Parsons will go on trial for the murder of Erica.  The trial date has been set for April 6, 2020.

Sandy Parsons, Erica’s adoptive father, will also go on trial but the date has not been set at this time.  Sandy helped investigators recover Erica’s body in a remote area in South Carolina.

Both Casey and Sandy are currently in federal prison after being sentenced for collecting government assistance meant for Erica for two years after she disappeared in 2011.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Appeal denied for the adoptive mother of missing Salisbury teen Erica Parsons. Casey Parsons wanted her sentence on fraud charges dismissed, but a federal judge said no.

Casey received a 10 year sentence back in March. The judge sent her husband Sandy Parsons to prison for eight years. There’s no word on the status of his appeal.

Prosecutors say the couple collected government assistance meant for Erica for two years after she disappeared in 2011.
