CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound in north Charlotte.
The shooting was reported around 7pm near the Royal Inn on Reagan Drive beside I-85. Police say the teen was found with a gunshot wound and taken to Atrium Health for treatment.
At this time, police are saying his injuries are non-life threatening.
CMPD says the suspect vehicle was located and stopped a short time later in the area of Greenland Avenue and Ashley Road. The occupants have been taken into custody, police say, but have not been formally charged.
Once charges are filed, police say their names will be released.
